Boutique Hotels Are Ideal for Business

When it comes to choosing a hotel to stay in when away on business you want to find a hotel that offer all the creature comforts you would find at home. The typical "boutique hotel" will have a modern artistic cutting-edge design and tick all the boxes regarding amenities.

Boutique hotels are intimate, luxurious or quirky hotel environments. They are different to the larger chain hotels as they provide a more personalised accommodation and facilities. Typically they are smaller than branded hotels and quite often are furnished on a theme. Boutique hotels are stylish, warm, and an aesthetically pleasing and also not as expensive as larger branded hotels.

Businessmen who travel on business are not looking for a hotel with restaurant, bar, gym or spa as many business men or women rarely have time to use them. Staying in a hotel when you're in town on business for just work commitments is not the same as when on holiday, unless you intend of mixing business with pleasure. You're in your room for a small period of time; really you just want a base with comfortable bedrooms equipped with quality bedding, heating and air conditioning. A reliable power shower with constant hot water is a must as is in-room coffee and tea facilities.

Some other facilities you might be looking for are free wifi broadband internet connections, flat screen TVs, iPod dock and the option of using UK or EU power plugs. What an Ethernet cable connection for internet access is also desirable. With many modern business meetings being conducted using web conferencing technology having this facility is handy. Also what would be useful is a dual-line telephone with personal voicemail, speakerphone.

Another must for the business traveller is having an iron and ironing board in the room. There is nothing work heading off for an important meeting and your clothes are all creased from travelling. You will be amazed at how many hotels don't offer ironing facilities in every room.

The global hotel chains have become masters in the art of selling business travellers short and quite often for ridiculous prices. But there is a trend for boutique hotels which offer just what the business traveller needs without the heavy prices. Boutique hotels are also known as "design hotels" or "lifestyle hotels". If you haven't stayed in one yet I seriously recommend it. You will be pleasantly surprised and possibly never stay in a branded hotel chain ever again.

For Kensington hotels check out Simply Rooms and Suites. Set in the heart of London, newly designed Simply Rooms & Suites is one of the new boutique London hotels near Olympia Exhibition Centre.

Holiday Accommodation in Malta

Sometimes, deciding where to go on holiday may create a bit of a headache especially when considering the places one can visit and the various types of holiday one may go for, according to tastes, party size and budget.

Visiting Malta for a week or two is surely a good choice for all kind of travellers because this small island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea offers something for everyone: historical sites, beaches, sun, nature, entertainment and shopping above others.
As everywhere else, finding a holiday accommodation can be a real task in itself. Needless to say, choosing the right accommodation of where to stay during your holiday is an important decision. In Malta there are varieties of options where to stay during your holiday such as hotels, guesthouses and self-catering units (apartments, villas and farmhouses). The price heavily depends on the amenities offered, location and the number of guests. Just be careful though, it is a common fact that one may find highly priced accommodations with minimum amenities or not in a good location.
The majority of holiday accommodations in Malta are found in the mostly sought after touristic areas. These include Sliema and St. Julians in the central part of Malta, and Qawra, Mellieha, St. Pauls Bay and Bugibba in the northern areas of the island. Definitely, Sliema is the most sought after area by tourists.
Hotels are the most popular type of accommodation for holidays, but not necessarily the best option during your stay in Malta, especially if travelling in a group or with the family. Three, four and five star hotels in Malta offer a very good standard of service and there is a good selection from where to choose from, including international hotel chains. Three star hotels offer the basic accommodation in means of amenities and comfort. Five star hotels in Malta offer top notch service and quality at a much higher price of course.
Guesthouses are definitely a cheaper alternative for those travellers who do not intend to pay much for their accommodation in. You will find many in Malta and of course as regards to luxury you get what you pay for. However they are ideal for travellers who are on a tight budget.
Group travelling of four or more people must think twice prior booking any hotels or guesthouses, especially when there are children in the group. The total booking cost will definitely be quite high, and if there are children in the group, the majority of them charge for extra beds per night, even if for kids. And guess what, the extra bed somehow will be squeezed in your double bed room, reducing the floor area considerably.
As an alternative, renting a nice modern luxury apartment, private villa or farmhouse which accommodates a good number of people will ultimately result in a cheaper holiday accommodation. Furthermore, it would be ideal if families and friends travelling together stay together rather than dispersed around in a different hotel rooms. Privacy is also an important factor when travellers look for self-catering holiday accommodation. Usually group travellers feel more comfortable being together under one roof and enjoy the time together, like cooking a nice large dinner or having the pool all for themselves.
So for group travellers, self catering accommodation is undoubtedly the best deal. Even for a couple this may be the best choice since one can have a large luxury apartment all for themselves. However just make sure that you rent only those accommodations fully licensed by the Malta Tourism Authority to be rest assured that the holiday accommodation is fully equipped with all amenities and up to international standards. You will easily find self-catering accommodations which are equipped more than most hotel rooms and even the location is far better.
